Serb protesters attacked the US embassy in Belgrade, after a day of protests which are now turning violent.
Chanting ‘Kosovo is Serbia,” the crowds vowed to never accept the province’s independence.
According to the NY Times: “Television footage showed rioters attacking the fence outside the Embassy and setting some buildings on fire. Masked attackers climbed over a first-floor railing at the Embassy and tried to throw furniture from an office, The Associated Press reported, and fire broke out along the mission’s front facade. “
There has been one confirmed dead in the attack.

So, Muslims from Albania invade by illegal immigration into Kosovo, Serbia, and demand to take posession of the land they just stole from the Christian Serbians. Then Bush endorces it. This is the place that WW1 started for very simular reasons. The Christians are against forced ritual genital mutilation of infant as a form of religious slavery. The Muslims beleive that Alah demands ritual mutilation of the masculine and feminine prepuce. I hope the intact freedom fighters win against the slave makers. All the circumcisers should be rounded up and gassed again. It’s an evil delussional sickness spread by ignorance, perpetuated by superstition. I hope Mother Nature wins this battle.
I do not understand argument about brutality of Milosevic regime. How menu brutal systems is imposed on minorities in the world. Sadam for example toward Shi’ite and Kurds in a past. Or Israel toward Palestinians today. Do they deserve independence? That will never happen because dally politics, not international law are important. That is biggest problem of US foreign policy in modern era.
How can such a country, like USA, accept this illegal independence. Whats going to happen when the Hispanics take over Texas and California? Quebect in Canada? etc. etc.
Independence of Kosovo is a historical moment and I could not be more happy for ALL people of Kosovo. Finally, everyone realizes that life under Serbia is equal to a death sentence.
Serbs have demonstrated, over last two decades, that they will do whatever it takes to create a “Great Serbiaâ€. We all know how that plan worked. Serbia and Serbian people have always been a source of instability, nationalism and hatred towards anything that is not Serbian. Dating back to WWI and to all Balkan wars. One interesting perspective is that Serbia is supporting an independence of the part of Bosnia that was created under Genocide and that was ethically cleaned of everything that was not Serbian, but at the same time they are arguing that Kosovo was invaded illegally by Albanians and therefore they don’t have a right for an independence.
So it is ok to call for independence as long as that independence works towards Serbian interest, otherwise it is illegal and unlawful.

This is what happens due to ignorrence.USA with their plans for independent Kosoo so they could keep the military base bondsteal that they were not allowed to build in a first place and now of course future pipe lines , Kosovo is rich with natural resources. And more importantly it belongs to Serbs when under Turkish occupation for 500 years Serbs never ever never accepted to convert and just give Kosovo up…and what the hell makes supporters of independence think they will do it now. It is shamefull that USA supported something like this…but it is not a news that USA does evrything according to interest, an it is easy to cooprate with muslim albanians they were evrybodys bitch. Hiltler used them , Turks used them evry body used them for their goals and one thing albanian terrorists wanted is kosovo and that promise fell thru many times…and will fall gain when usa loses interest in that region. Bac in 1999 when USA bombed Serbia for 78 days and people they did not bomb just military sights, but they bombed civil institutions with granades filled with uranium that now causes a huge increase in cancer deaths. Serbs were bombed because they were cracking down on terroristic organizations such as KLA , ANA and others you have to understand that system of warfare is not what you learn in schools. Overthere whole population is familiar with situation and muslims with their adittude that war is the greater cause, they dont care what happens as long as they acheeve their goals. There are so many reasons to why this is such a bad decision, now there is nothing holding back other separatists areound the world from asking their independence. Because if Kosovo got to break international law endanger world order that was built on fr hundreds of years, if UN rules really do stand for nothing for Kosovo than no body is going to follow them and there is nothing that could stop theM . Some argue that Kosovo case is a unique case but in reality evry case is unique in its own way but similar in general. There are many other countries who actually do deserve independence and now they can get it. Kosovo was not supposed to get its independence because it did not deserve it and because it is illegal, it is dangerous and when you hear well independence will bring peace and stability to balkans oh that is one big , fat lie, huge lie ment for those who are uninformed. Does this look like peace to you ? And its only gonna get worse because Kosovo is evrything to Serbians they were bombed because they treid to defeand their own country from terrorists and illigal imigration. This is something that could be happening to USA tomorow because they strongly support albanians they encourage them…and of course many dont know nothing about it because there is no way to spin the fact that the country we hope will do the right thing is cooperating with terrorist, bullying the little guys, blackmailing… World War One started in Serbia because of a similar iusse, and this has a potential into becoming a dangerous problem. But nothing like this would have happened if neggotiations betwween Albania and Serbia were sucessful …Serbian side offered privileges that no other illegal imigrants have anywhere in the world. But albanians refused it, why should they accept it when they know US has their back and they came to those neggotiations just for show they did not care about neggotatiation. It is so unfortuante that this is happening I cant even begain to stress how wrong this is. Excuses that Serbia is being punished for Milosevic’s politcs but they arrested him …he’s dead he aint comming back , since he left Serbian goverment was pledged to sucess and democrasy…they almosed finished fullfilling a list of demand for membership in Europian union, only to find out that EU is USA’s marionet. It does not make any sense at all, and history will show it, I just hope some one will pick u p a hstory book and read the first one form WW1. WAKE UP PEOPLLEEE!!! UNJUSTICE IS UNROLING IN FRONT OF YOU EYES DO SOMTHINGGG!!! By recognizing independent Kosovo, the rules in the world just changed, and any separatist movement who has powerful friends, can effectively succeed in becoming an independent country. United Nations do not matter and current rules put in place after two world wars, designed to prevent just this type of behavior, do not matter. In this case, it’s puny, week Serbia, who cannot resist this, is an easy target. Not unlike Czechoslovakia in 1938 when Hitler decided to have a piece of it, and noone dared to stand up and say no. Nowdays, Serbia is the country which got rid of its dictator 8 years ago, and is a democratic country, still gets punished. Needles to say this type of event just lit up another barrel of gun powder in the Balkans, and you can already see what all the hotheads are doing because of it.
But tomorrow, who can say no to people in Scotland who want to get away from UK, or to the people in Basque who want to secede from Spain, or people in another 100 countries around the world who have problems with separatists? Why are Albanians and Serbians so much different? How many of these splits would be peaceful and how many would result in anarchy, violence, or wars? Who knows, but what happened last Sunday with Kosovo is a sad day for the world, and yet once again Bush administration proves that its decisions are catastrophic for the planet as a whole, including the US, because once the dominos start falling, you never know how things may end up.
Could someone explaine me differences between Palestina and Kosovo. Why America doesn`t accept their independence. And Ismet says that Serbia wants Great Serbia. Serbia is only country that loose their teritory in former Yugoslavia. Why America didn1t apply similar system in the case of Croatia and Bosnia . Please don`t tell that America is friend of Serbia.
Because most of Serbs(around 250000) fled Kosovo in 1999 and they live in refugee camps now in central Serbia.Thousands of more Serbs fled in march of 2004 when albanians burnt down hundreds of their homes and many ancient churches that date back from 10th century.Before 1999 many more were killed by KLA as someone said before,by terrorist organization directly linked to Al Qaeda.And don`t think this is Russian or Serbian propaganda,just google KLA and read a little more on internet.Another reason why are they majority is that average albanian family has a lot more children than average Serbian or any other European family..combine that with decades that pass and you`ll get result..What California or Texas should be independent,because there is more hispano americans????What kind of logic is that?

Their borders were established well before the break up of Yugoslavia, and to be more precise on November 29th, 1943 in Jajce, AVNOJ. Kosovo was an Independent Province of former Yugoslavia. Once again, its borders were well established before the break up of Yugoslavia.
For me to argue with you about how Serbia is the only Republic of former Yugoslavia that is loosing its territory I would have to agree with you that Kosovo was Serbia’s territory. I disagree with that, so your argument has no merit, because it is based on the false premise.

And some might not undesratnd why is it inpossible for Serbians to let go of Kosovo and you dont have to understand, but what you have to understand is how big of a precident establishing of false country on territory of Serbia, it will end up effecting evrybody and cause major chaos, and what bothers me is that USA is allowing it and pressuring others into doing the same simply because they have their own interst in that region is that simple for you to understand … it is wrong and dangerous because evryone will follow some countries are already talking about it and say that is an example that should be followed. Kosovo was not a independent province of Yugoslavia. Kosovo was, and Kosovo is, a province of Serbia.
Kosovo was a central part of Serbia during centuries. Kosovo was a central part of Serbia even during Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1918.-1945.)
Kosovo becomes a province of Serbia only during communist regime (1945.-1990.) and get an autonomy. After democratic changes, autonomy stays.
So, Ismet, you have two choices:
1. or go to school and learn something,
2. or forget about hate you feel and try to discuss based on facts.
