Top Al Qaeda Commander Killed

For U.S.-led forces hunting down member of Al Qaeda, news of Abu Laith al Libi’s death was a large victory. The Al Qaeda commander was responsible for training Al Qaeda members in Afghanistan was killed in Pakistan.  While his death has yet to be confirmed by forensic evidence, militant Islamic websites were already called him a martyr who helped lead the “holy war” against the west.
According to experts, his death is very significant.  “They have lost their senior paramilitary commander for Afghanistan,” the official said. “It doesn’t mean he couldn’t be replaced. But it does mean that Al Qaeda has lost a very seasoned commander with a great deal of experience.”
