Iraq & Afghanistan 2nd only in Cost to WWII

Christopher Helleman and Travis Sharp of the Center for Arms Control and Nonproliferation have put the cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars into perspective.  The only conflict that was more costly, in terms of dollars (all costs were adjusted for inflation and put into 2007 dollars) was World War II.

‘Demonic’ Militants Sent Women to Bomb Markets in Iraq, 73 Killed

Baghdad can still be a dangerous place.  Today, a stark reminder of that was served when two mentally disabled women were strapped with explosives Friday and sent into busy Baghdad markets, where they were blown up by remote control.  The death toll is at least 73, with over 100 wounded.
