Super Bowl of Presidential Race is Today
In politics as in sports, predictions often leave the prognosticators with egg on their face. While most experts predicted the New England Patriots would rout the Giants (with a nod to Keith Olbermann and a few others who actually made the right call), the Giants prevailed in one of the greatest Super bowls of all time.
Today, is the Super bowl of politics, Super Tuesday. The date is so significant, that it amounts to the closest thing America has ever seen to a national primary. With 24 states voting today and a massive amount of delegates up for grabs, it is possible that both parties could have their nominees all-but-selected by this evening. But just like in sports, do not be too quick to make an assumption as to who the winners will be. There is no ticker-tape parade in Boston today, but there is one in New York.
For their season, the Giants had a mantra, “Talk is Cheap, Play the Game.” Today, it is up to each campaign to show if they are ready for the national stage, or if, like the Patriots, they had a good run but ultimately it just wasn’t enough.
