Vladimir Putin isn’t going anywhere.
His handpicked successor, Dmitri Medvedev, has announced that he would like Putin to become his Prime Minister when the new government is formed. Medvedev also raised the prospect of reshaping the Russian government structure, giving the PM position greater power.
In this speech yesterday, Medvedev said, “I find it extremely important for our country to keep Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin in the most important position in executive power, in the post of chairman of the government of Russia.”
