The ruling party of Pakistan has announced that the January 8th elections are now likely to be postponed by at least 3 to 4 months.
The announcement comes as Benazir Bhutto’s political party gathers today to discuss a boycott of the January 8th election. At the meeting, Bhutto’s 19-year-old son, Bilawal is expected to read aloud her will. According to various news reports, he is said to have been named her successor.

didn’t president bush say the election should stay on the 8th? guess no one cares what he says or thinks.
I guess you didn’t realize … even though Bush has given gazillions to Musharrif, he is still not head of the government of Pakistan. And since Bush and Condi convinced Bhutto to return to Pakistan, perhaps they don’t carry much credibility.
Bush and Condi have no credibility in Pakistan. Didnt Bush call Musharraf ‘our guy’? he hasn’t done much to fight terrorism in his own country. Bhutto would have been a stronger ally for the US.
