‘Our Guy’ Musharraf Warns US to Stay out of Pakistan

President Bush’s ‘guy,’ in Pakistan, President Pervez Musharraf doesn’t seem to be a team player of late.

Today he told reporters that the United States would “regret the day” they crossed the Afghan border into Pakistan in an attempt to capture or kill Osama Bin Laden. He also said troops would be viewed by his government as “invaders.” Instead Musharraf claims that his army is able to fight terrorists within his country. Of course if this were true, then why is it that Pakistan has become an al-Qaida hotbed?

The Pakistan-Afghan border has long been considered a likely hiding place for the al-Qaida leader and his top deputy Ayman al-Zawahri, as well as a staging ground for Taliban militants planning attacks on coalition forces in Afghanistan.

President Bush has given billions of dollars in aid to Pakistan since 9-11, and has charcaterized Musharraf as ‘our guy.’ Meanwhile under the watch of ‘our guy’ Pakistan remains one of the most dangerous spots in the world, still filled with Islamic militants. An October, 2007 Newsweek article proclaimed, “Islamic militants have spread beyond their tribal bases, and have the run of an unstable, nuclear-armed nation.” What has ‘our guy’ done for US interests in Pakistan? Has he secured his boarders from terrorists? No. Has he wisely spent the billions of dollars in aid we gave him (at last count 10 billion) to find Osama Bin Laden and eliminate extremists from Pakistan?

The recent suicide bombing in Pakistan and the assassination of Benazir Bhutto demonstrates the country remains a dangerous place, and talk of instability is in the air. If US troops entered Pakistan they would be in the mountainous region between Afghanistan and Pakistan. They wouldn’t be roaming the streets of Islamabad. It is of vital strategic importance Bin Laden to be captured and if Musharraf is hindering that objective, it has to make you wonder - why?

To Busharraf, I would then say, cut off every single damn penny of American aide. Busharraf has never been interested in fighting terrorism, but it sure has been profitable for him to pull out a token terrorist ot two every now and then around election time to keep the dollars flowing. The man is a dispicable dictator, protecting his own intrests—so why are we paying him?

The CNN article is a sensational, inflammatory news item constructed to get attention, that all. It takes quotes out of context in order to inspire fear in CNN’s readers.

    Journalism at its worst.

What a surprise!!! If you were harboring one of the most wanted men in the world you might deny he is in your country, You might even pretend that you could stand up to the US military both phisicaly and politically to keep it from looking like you are a military dictator who claim to no longer be in control of the military. I am not sure that is how power sharring in Pakistan works…you know opposition leaders conviently assasinated…others denied the ablity to run even though Mushhead ran for Presdient when it was clearly unconstitutional…Replace all the judges so there is no back lash…George YOU are selling out America…Where is BIN LADEN…sound like where’s Waldo but these people what to rule the popluation of the entire world by their own religous law. These people do not care about humanity or human well being in general…But then it appears that neither does BUSH…well you can’t make an breakfast wothout breaking a few eggs. Be careful he has a b–b and he is not afraid to use it. Any more good Ideas George…I know lets give millions more to this mad man in Pakistan! LOOK at all the crazy peolple who run countries. Bush, Chavez, Sarcozky, Putin, Morales…Millionaires who lie and kill as a means to power. How sad that it will take 11 monthns to get rid of our mad man…lets hope the next one doesn’t quote the bible in their speaches. Did I meantion that Pakistan is recieving millions in US aid…what a joke that our own allies are only there for the money and that we(BUSH) call one military dictator our friend and a legally elected leader in south america our anatagonist. While I must admit that I don care for the way Chavez steals from the the rich so that he can stay in power with votes from the poor, I can not stand the thought that we(US) are directly supporting a REGIME which in all intents and purposes we should be listing as a sponsor of terrorism. Where are the free elections? They will be held after all oppositon has been neutralized. This sounds so familiar…oh thats right… the new “soft” facism…Once agian good j j jjjob George.

If Musharraf had the ability or the will to quell al Qaeda and the head of it,
Bin Laden, then it would have been done by now. Why hasn’t it? Maybe negotiations
should stop and some deadlines begin. And
    maybe President Bush should re-examine
why he lets Musharraf do nothing.

Be it Musharraf or Bush, neither of them is really concerned ’bout the country itself.
Bush, more interestd in securing an ally for himself and his country then to be genuinely ‘giving a hand’ to Musharraf and Musharraf himself is as much interested in fighting terrorism as Bush…. Its all ’bout winning the election n dictatorship
We all have our selfish motives!

Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Afganistan….Bush is putting his dirty hands in all those countries trying to be the dictator of dictators. FAIL.
