“Houston, I think we achieved liftoff here,†Mr. Obama told a crowd of 20,000 people in Texas as he celebrated his double digit win in Wisconsin.
With Wisconsin and Hawaii sealed for Barack Obama he has now won an impressive 10 states in a row since Super Tuesday.
This sets up the March 4th primaries in Ohio and Texas as critical for Hillary Clinton and Obama. Since delegates are awarded proportionatly in the democratic primary, Clinton must now win approximately 65% of the remaining delegates, meaning she needs to win, and win big in large states. Strong victories in Ohio and Texas would give her delegates she badly needed.
However, Obama’s momentum is now at an all-time high. Just two months ago, he trailed in Wisconsin by 25 points. A month ago he trailed in Texas and Ohio by 20 points. Now, will set his sights on another come from behind victory that would do more than give him delegates - it would almost assuredly give him the nomination of his party.
