Myanmar to hold elections by 2010

Better late than never.
The last time Myanmar held elections it was 1990 and the military refused to hand power over to the election winners. Then it punished Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader of the National League for Democracy, by forcing him in jail or in house arrest for much of the past 18 years. Let’s hope things go better this time around for democratic reform and elections in Myanmar.
