Medvedev Wins Russian Election

He didn’t bother campaigning, and it turns out he didn’t have to. Unlike the 2008 election in the US, the Russian election to succeed Vladimir Putin held no suspense or drama. Putin’s endorsement was enough for Dmitry Medvedev to win an easy election. Frankly, if Putin had endorsed my dog Riley, he would also be the next President of Russia. No other current leader has so much clout with his people as does Putin.
Not surprisingly, after his election was official he announced, “I will work on this together with Mr. Vladimir Putin, as the future chairman of the government.” More than likely, the world or Russia has not heard the last of Putin.
