Hu?  On a day when one venerable Wall Street firm filed for bankruptcy, while other was gobbled up and two other financial giants clung to life, John McCain told reporters, “Our economy I think, still, the fundamentals of our economy are strong, but these are very, very difficult times.”  I know what you are thinking.  WTF!

Let’s recap.  In 2000, when President Bush took office we had a record surplus.  Today, we have a record deficit.  In 2000 unemployment was at 4.2%.  Today, it is over 6%.  In 2000, our national debt was around $5 trillion.  Today, its double that figure.  Oh yeah and the value of the dollar has plunged.

But faced with all of this, Senator McCain really thinks the fundamentals are strong?  Really?  For who are they strong?  Are they strong for you?

Simply put, I would ask our users, are you better off than you were 8 years ago?

Clinton left us very sound, more friends thru- out the world and as you say, a surplus. You can not tell a Republican that, however. They just don’t get it.

As an accountant who specializes in small businesses, I can tell you that the economy in Florida is definitely not what it was 8 years ago, 4 years ago or even 2 years ago.

I would say Senator McCain is definitely out of touch with America. When will middle class Americans figure that out?

Americans won’t ever get it, I’d say.

Fundamentals are strong eh? Don’t let McCain shake that stupid statement guys. I am sure all you ignorant voters are going to forget all about this and vote him in anyways.

Why are the polls so close?
