Latin American Crisis Ends
Just two days ago, Latin America seemed headed towards a regional conflict and there was talk of war. Today, that talk has ended. Â
The presidents of Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador met yesterday and signed an accord to end the crisis. Following the incursion by Colombian troops into Ecuador to kill a rebel leader, Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez has been particularly harsh in his rhetoric. Earlier in the week he said there should no longer be trade with his nation and Colombia. Now, he believes trade should be increased.
Its good to see cooler heads prevail in Latin America.
