Finally

600+ Dead.  Thousands displaced.  Millions effected.

This has been the story line in Kenya since the disputed election results were announced in late December.  Today, things took a turn for the better.  After weeks of prodding,  Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki and opposition leader Raila Odinga met for the first time  under the auspices of former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

The meeting was characterized as an “ice-breaker,” which is ironic because the two leaders know each other well and were former allies.  But breaking ice is a start.
