Bachmann Takes Credit for Cheap Gas
Since its peak this summer, the price of gas at the pump has dropped dramatically. There are several factors that have made this possible. Demand, as we all know, has gone down as the global recession has forced a cutback in usage. Crude oil is now at about half its value in July and that in turn reduces the price of gas that we pay. Apparently that isn’t the full reason why gas has gone down. According to Rep. Michele Bachmann, it has gone down because of her.
In an Oct. 29 campaign event with Norm Coleman, Bachmann took credit for gas prices that in her district were $2.04 a gallon, “That was my goal. When I started out early this year, my goal was to get to $2 — oh they gave me grief for it.”
Who gave her grief for it? Maybe its those same people in Washington that she wants investigated. Did Bachmann conclude that liberals want high gas prices since they hate America?
The citizens of Minnesota have Bachmann to thank for their low gas prices, which now hover around $2 a gallon. As a member of the flat-earth caucus and as one of the few members of Congress with a close personal relationship with Jesus (Bachmann once told a crowd that she was ‘hot for Jesus’) Bachmann was personally able to use her connections with Christ to reduce the price of gas. Certainly, a representative with this kind of Divine clout deserves to stay in office, right?
Later, during a town hall blog, Bachmann tried to retreat from her original statement and gave this answer as to why gas is now cheaper: “What happened the past few months to lower the cost of gas? Several things, but perhaps most importantly, Congress has let the ban on offshore oil exploration and oil shale expire, sending a signal to the markets that the United States may finally be ready to up their supply. Also, the collapse of the global markets has stabilized the American dollar. In other words, we’re now getting more bang for our buck.”
It does take 7-10 years for any new offshore drilling sites to produce oil that makes it into our supply chain and the collapse of the global markets had nothing to do with Bachmann - unless she requested that from Jesus as a means to an end of higher gas prices.
Desperate, low on money, with no message, and now exposed for the joke that she is, Michele Bachmann is trying everything possible to stay in power. It is up to the citizens of the 6th district of Minnesota to reject her politics. Right after she made her insidious comments on MSNBC’s Harball, Blogflict was quick to rally support and funds to her opponent, El Tinklenberg. Now is the time to hit the phones and hit the streets and get out as many voters as possible to defeat Bachmann.

Wish Bachmann could work her magic here in the UK - we could do with some cheap gas and electricity.

With gas prices pretty low, I went ahead and locked in these gas prices for the next year at this site petrofix.com. No more worrying about gas prices for the next year.
