And Then There Was One…

The United States is now the only major industrialized nation to not sign onto the Kyoto Protocol. The newly elected leader of Australia, Kevin Rudd, announced today his nation had signed onto the pact.

This announcement comes as the Bali Conference begins which seeks to create a road map for a new international agreement on pollution controls once Kyoto expires in 2012. With over 180 nations in attendence, the UN sponsored conference is critical for determining international energy policies going forward.

In a word, revolting. What is wrong with the US gov’t? When is the next American election? It needs to happen right away!
