A New Twist on ‘Palin Power’ - She Abused It

The bipartisan state ethics panel has just released their findings.  While no laws were broken, Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power.

According to CNN, “Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan’s refusal to fire Palin’s ex-brother-in-law from the state police force was “likely a contributing factor” to Monegan’s July dismissal, but Palin had the authority as governor to dismiss him, the report by former Anchorage prosecutor Stephen Branchflower states.”

Palin is not such a problem as McCain. It is obvious she has no clue and is not qualified. His choosing of Palin as the VP candidate shows that he can do anything for his immediate political gain, and is an impulsive guy without a vision for the future. “Erratic” is a very mild description of this dangerous hawk. This self-marketed “experienced maverick” lacks judgement.

Most of it Branchflower judgment calls, but she should have went ahead and fired the trooper. He deserves it.

“some of the conclusions were judgment calls by Branchflower, and recommended readers should view them with a “jaundiced eye.”"

Please don’t try to say Obama led this investigation. Republicans were the majority in the panel.

Obviously the Trooper was a sh*t bag. However, her judgment was still incorrect. She did use her power for a personal reason. That’s wrong! End of story. BTW, people that live in glass houses…I need not finish.

Lets see, no laws broken, but it was “likely? a contributing factor”, thus making it an abuse of power? Does this mean that by the Obama camp giving ACORN 800,000 thousand dollars, Obama is giving them money and orders to go out and register fraudulant voter ID’S in order to fix the election in his favor?

The very essence of being a politician is exerting influence. So this isn’t a shock to anyone. Problem is that as a running mate to a would-be President, you have to vet the process to the highest possible standards - and this revelation should have been anticipated by GOP strategists.

Bad job guys. You really are making it hard for McCain to win in 2008.

I agree her judgement was incorrect in thinking someone else should have fired the dude. She should have fired him directly and fire the other guy for his budget views also.

Not a surprise at all. The wheels are coming off the Palin candidacy. It’s unbelievable how the Bill Ayer’s story has gotten such play while Palin, whose attacks on Obama border on apoplectic, skates by with hardly a mention of her association with the Alaska Independence Party, which advocates a vote to seceed from the Union and whose founder, Joe Vogler, once stated, “I’m an Alaskan, not an American. I’ve got no use for America or her damned institutions.” The motto of AIP is “Alaska First,” not the “America First” of the McCain/Palin campaign. Hardly mentioned also is Palin’s association with Third Wave theology, which has advocated for American provocation of Russia to bring about the 2nd coming of Christ. But perhaps now this will all come out. One can only hope. And thank God for Christopher Buckley, who is now in the Obama camp basically because he, too, can see how dangerous Palin is.

She asked for more power as VP in her debate and now we see what she does when she HAS a little power. It seems reckless for her to have ANY power. Couple THAT with the witch-hunting Muthee and EVERYONE in the country will be burned at the stake if we let her in!
Be afraid, FOLKS, be very afraid!

The fact that she initially agreed with the probe, then once she became vp candidate, decided not to go with it. Raised a lot of eyebrows. She put herself in the spotlight.

“I’m going to vote to release it, but it’s not a vote in total agreement,” said Republican Sen. Gary Stevens.

“There’s not a consensus for the conclusion,” said GOP Rep. Bill Stoltze. He said he expected there would be “robust and vigorous intellectual debate on that in other corners.”

To reiterate, for the non-reading “Nobama” guy: the Legislative Council that started the investigation was made up mostly of Republicans. So saying this was a Democrat-driven thing is a lie.

It’s a shame that you and so many other Americans treat your politics like it’s a sport: you cheer for your team no matter what. You need to take a step back and look at the politicians individually. If this had been Joe Biden slapped with this kind of accusation, would you still be so defensive? I doubt it. You’re cheering on a team. You’re the worst kind of voter: you care only about the label, not about the record.

Sen McCain took the risk of choosing her as his running mate while knowing this was in the wind.

Plenty will try to rationalize it..go ahead.I can’t.

I wonder what spin “Sarah the In Pailer” will put on this.

Questionable ethics, no executive experience, no foreign policy, no tax experience, cannot speak in full sentences unless written for her.

Here is what John Mc Cain should say. This was a Democratic plot. I was advised to pick Palin by someone who turns out to be a Democratic operative. I have been sabotaged every step of the way.
I promise I will root out all the disloyal people in the Republican Party and restore it to its former glory. I have asked Governor Palin to step down and have asked Governor Huckabee to complete my ticket. Together we will pray for the hands of God to solve the problems facing America.

SPIN ON STUPID…..No this is not a game to me….I am VERY serious. Senator Obama has been called all types of names and lately at Palin’s events, there have been racial AND ETHNIC NAME-CALLING…No this is not a game.

This is real and fortunately Senator Obama has been NOTHING BUT presidential. But I am not personally going to allow attacks on anyone that is unjustified when the record shows otherwise…..Now the Real Issues AND THE RECORD FOR SENATOR MCCAIN—McCain’s voting record which is 90-95% with the failed Bush Administration economic and domestic policies///McCain’s judgement by selecting by selecting Palin without vetting her properly///McCain’s judgement by interfering with a Federal Investigation of his friend Charles Keating, a convicted felon who partnered with McCain and his family in investments while Senior citizens and others lost their life savings…..THESE ARE THE ISSUES–not someone talking about association with terrorists and socialists which probably has no validity especially since Obama has been vetted by every national credible news source…..Senator McCain has my respect as a former military POW and as a Senator, but he is a failed flawed presidential candidate and that’s the REAL ISSUE!!!!And soon it will be historic after he loses the election!!!

As a republican, I plead with you to vote these two incompetents out, by voting for Obama. Let us spend the next four years trying to make Obama into a middle-of-the-road republican.

REPUBLICANS DESPERATE TO SAVE OUR PARTY! VOTE FOR OBAMA!

I’m pleased to see that after all the political maneuvering and silver-tongued lawyer battles that the truth is finally coming out. The fact that Palin contacted Monegan three dozen times during her brief tenure as governor and NEVER MENTIONED A SINGLE OTHER TROOPER and had her husband play attack dog also destroys her credibility in regards to Wooten being a “rogue trooper.” For all we know she wanted him fired so her sister could then use the argument that he doesn’t make enough money to support the couple’s children and thus shouldn’t get custody. I don’t think Barack Obama with his Citigroup history and shady campaign donations is any more honest at all, don’t get me wrong, but it’s great to see at least one of the major party campaigns exposed for the sham it is. I can’t wait to vote for Ron Paul this November.

If you actually read the report you will find that the threat to the Gov. family is the assertion of the Gov and her husband and has not been independently verified. The trooper denies that he ever threatened them.
The more important thing that came out the report is about that TASERING of the child. The OFFICIAL investigation found some interesting details to that report. The boys mother was right there WATCHING and did NOTHING to stop it. Bristol Palin (the governors daughter) was right there WATCHING and did nothing to stop it. Sarah and Todd Palin were told of the event within hours of it occurring and did NOTHING! Not a call to police, not a call to child protective services, they did not take the boy to their home for shelter nor did Todd or Sarah’s father go over to Molly’s house and KICK WOOTEN’s a s s. This speaks volumes about the character of all of them. What we dont want to embarrass the political sister by publicly airing the dirty linen of the family?

I don’t understand what republicans do not like in Obama. He is actually a conservative - tough stance on terrorists, russia, fiscally much more responsible than McCain. More “family values” guy than McCain too. The only thing is that should seem dangerous to the right wing is that he wants to tax only those who makes more than 250K. But, with this economy, pretty soon everyone will be out of that danger.

The Real Liars Revealed!
When a woman stood up and told Mr. McCain that she could not trust Mr. Obama because he was an Arab McCain replied: No, ma’am, he’s a decent family man, a citizen, who I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues.
Then he added, I admire Senator Obama and his accomplishments, I will respect him. HUH??????? He goes on to state that no one has to be scared of having Obama as their President.

This after working his crowds into frenzied dogs for weeks, calling Obama a liar and implying himself that Obama was just a terrorist.

And we have Sarah Palin, who says she did nothing wrong regarding Troopergate now proven to be one who abused her powers and is in
violation of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. Now the Republicans cry foal when this was a bi-partisan investigation and voted on by 12-0 against Palin.

Sarah Palin felt she had to take her husband to work with her and have him sit in on meetings. She was in the Executive Branch and Todd Palin was a citizen. A fisherman. He had no business sticking his nose into Alaska’s business, their meetings and putting any pressure on the firing of this man. If Sarah Palin needs a babysitter, she should not hold an office.

You messed up Sarah! You betcha, wink-wink.

Perhaps now we can hear about McCains involvement with Mobster Joe Bonanno and his sitting on the Advisory board for the Iran-Contra Affairs.
